Business High Point Chamber of Commerce is celebrating its 100th anniversary. Since the decline of manufacturing, the city has faced stumbling blocks on its road to revitalization. But officials there say in recent years some of the efforts are beginning to bear fruit.
The number “100” figured prominently in a community celebration Wednesday. High Point Chamber of Commerce supporters and fans of the new baseball team — the High Point Rockers — gathered to mark two occasions involving the number. This year marks the 100th anniversary of the founding of the High Point Chamber of Commerce, which has evolved into Business High Point.
